Cornelius Gleason born - 1813 County Tipperary, Ireland. Suspected Parents - Thomas and Margaret Gleason. Con died April 3, 1878 and is buried out of Sacred Heart Church of Yale, Michigan. Buried at "Our Lady of Seven Sorrows" small cemetery on the Melvin and Jordan Road in Melvin, Michigan. His grave is located within the black cast iron fences. He is buried along with 2 Grandchildren and wife (no headstone for his wife). Grandchildren being children of Cornelius Junior and wife Anna Quinlan Gleason. Spouse was Bridget Mullins Born Circa 1810 and died March 24, 1890 (Port Huron home of daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Roggenbeck), she also was born in County Tipperary. They married in Ireland and had 2 children born there, one was Martin and the other child was named Patrick Gleason and the four of them left Ireland approximately 1839 and three (one of the children died during the voyage) of them came through Quebec region and settled in the Township of Gore of Downie in Perth County, Ontario Canada (near Stratford). They lived on Con 12 Lot 20. They had six more children in that area and in 1865 left Ontario to settle in Village of Speaker, in Sanilac County Michigan on Wellin Line. Con passed down his land to his second son John William Gleason as was written up in 1869 and registered in 1876 in Sandusky Courthouse. Con Gleason and Bridget Mullins were married May 27, 1836 in the Roman Catholic Parish of Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland. Witnesses to the Marriage were Mary Hickey and Hannah Corboy.

OBITUARY OF OLD CITIZEN
Cornelius Gleason was born in Downey [Downie], Pearce County [Perth County], Canada, in l852. He was united in marriage with Anna Quinlan in l876 and she departed this life in l906. Seven children were born to their union, four of whom are living.
Mr. Gleason brought his family to Isabella County in l888 [records show l884] and was for a number of years active in the lumbering business throughout the state. He was a good citizen, always anxious to help his fellowman. As his health failed he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. E. D. Ball, where his death came as a shock September 5 after a few days coma. He went to sleep on Sunday and death came Wednesday at 7:30p.m. He is survived by Mrs. E. D. Ball, and John R., Jos. and James Gleason.
The funeral was held from the Sacred Heart Church, Saturday. The solemn high mass was said by Fr. Flannery assisted by Fathers O'Connor and McNiel. He was laid beside his wife in Calvary cemetery, carried to the grave by his sons and nephews.
Present from out-of-town at the funeral were his sons, James of Detroit, Joseph and wife of Detroit, John and wife of Midland, Mrs and Mrs. John Trainor of Melvin [this is Bridget Gleason], Mr and Mrs A. W. Edward Ball from Detroit, came to this city the latter part of the week to attend the funeral of his father-in-law, Cornelius Gleason. Mr. Ball spent Sunday with his brother, Clarence Ball.
