Subject: 45th year reunion rescheduled to JUNE 4th!

    Classmates,
In an attempt to address concerns about the reunion being scheduled for the same day as the community gathering for the high school destruction and pep rally, the committee sought your feedback. The feedback that was received all agreed that moving the reunion to June 4th was acceptable. With the exception of the date, everything remains the same. The same time and place as was planned. See the Reunion Page for details. The change allows anyone torn between which activity to attend to attend both. If this troubles some of you, we apologize. This is an attempt generate the most classmate activity as possible.

          Thank you,
          Alumni Committee

Subject: Feedback, possibility of rescheduling reunion to JUNE 4th!

    Classmates,
Some classmates have expressed concern about the reunion being scheduled for the same day as the community gathering for the high school destruction and pep rally. The committee is considering moving the scheduled reunion to the previous day, June 4th, at the same time and place as currently planned. The change would allow anyone torn between which activity to attend, or to go to both. The secondary purpose is to increase the number of individuals participating in the reunion.

Please take a moment to send a email, note, or call to Jackie Augustyn-Hamann, or anyone on the reunion committee to give us your thoughts. Given enough responses plans may change. No matter, keep watching the web page for the current status of the reunion date.

          Thank you,
          Alumni Committee

Subject: January's meeting a Huge Success!

    Friends of Old MHS,
Last Wednesday's meeting was great to experience with all the good ideas being discussed! We had 15 new people join our ranks and that is a real 'shot in the arm' for any organization. The momentum is continuing to build as more and more people learn about plans for the Closing Celebration. Our TV station has played an important role in publicizing the event and very soon the radio station and local newspapers will help inform everyone about the June 5, 2010 event that could possibly be the largest gathering Marysville has ever experienced. However our best means of spreading the message is word- of- mouth. When you get excited about something have you notices it can become contagious?
Over the past 67 years many people associated with MHS have spread to the far reaches of the country and other countries as well and the only way we can make contact with them is through you , who are friends. Its important to get the word out as early as possible so people can make vacation plans and travel arrangements if they plan to attend.
The ariel photo sales are brisk and the calendar continues to sell like hot cakes. We will soon have to go to a second printing. The historical/archives committee is working diligently to make the April deadline for completion of the DVD showcasing the history of old MHS. It will be a memorable keepsake that everyone will want to own. There is still time to get that special picture/item to Maggie DeVeny to include in the collection. The band and choir have committed to being a part of this event and the student council and National Honor Society have agreed to join us for set up and take down. Tina Tallman in food services has pledge to help with food and drinks as soon as those decisions are made.
We are also exploring ways the community and service organizations might be able to play a role in this once in a lifetime happening. We are seeking ideas on what should happen at the 6:00 P.M. pep assembly. If you have suggestions such a oldest graduate, the homecoming queens. retired staff members etc, be sure to get those to us for consideration.
Please note and spread the word that our meetings are now bi-weekly as we get closer to June. January27th at 7:00 P.M. in the library is our next one. Hope to see you there.

This is a reminder to attend the December 9th "Closing Celebration planning meeting at 7:00 P.M. in the MHS library. We not only need you but a guest or two also because we have a mighty task in front of us and we are still in need of ideas and good people to carry them out.

Maggie and Charlie and crew have done a wonderful job on the calendar!!!! As a matter of fact it is outstanding! They are hot off the press and will be at Wednesday"s meeting. Remember that the sale of the calendars is a major money maker to fund the Closing Celebration so we will need your help. Please plan to sign up to take ten or more to sell so we can start to build up our coffers. We also have aerial photos to sell.

It is important for our plans for June 5th 2010 start to firm up because we will be losing some of our "snowbird" committee members for the winter months. Many hands make light work. If everybody does a little bit then nobody will have to do a lot.

See you on Wednesday December 9th at 7:00 P.M. at MHS library.

You have received this email because your name and address were given to me as an organizer for your Marysville High School Reunion. I am one of the organizers for the "Closing Celebration" which is the event to pay tribute to the fine high school building we all attended, before it is to be torn down after this school year. I need your help. We want to make sure as many graduates and attendees as possible can be reached so we can keep them informed concerning the planned activities for this event.

Our plan is to ask your cooperation to contact the people from your class with these updates. In order for this system to work we need to make sure the list is complete. Of the 67 graduating classes (1943-2010) we only have a contact person for 43 of those years. Thirty nine of those are by email and the remaining ones are telephone so that means 24 class years are unreachable and that's where we could use your immediate help. Listed below are the years we are missing and if you know the contact person for that year could you please email it to me so we can have a complete list?
